Thorung Peak (6,144m) is relatively lesser known peak climbing destination thanks to the massive popularity of the Thorung La Pass (5,416m).Although a peak climbing journey, the trail follows the majority of the route of the Annapurna Circuit Trek. Passing Manang and Ghunsang, the Tibetan influenceis pretty vivid on the journey. With the Annapurna Himalayas keeping surreal company, the Thorung Peak Climbing is a glorious adventure to the top of an astounding peak in the Annapurna region.

Thorung Peak Climbing starts with your arrival in Katmandu. From Kathmandu, you drive to Chame and then start trekking. The trail takes you through the Marsayangdi River, foothills, green forests, and numerous suspension bridges. Passing Pisang on the way, the trek prior to making the climb reaches Manang. At Manang, you can observe the traditional way of life of the Manage people. These regions reflect inspirations from the Tibet to the north. Along the trek route, you get to observe the flora and fauna and enjoy some spectacular mountain views. The trail makes its way through some high passes, rocky slopes, and tricky descents. From Manang, the journey heads to the Thorung High Camp followed by Thorung Peak Base Camp. The scaling of the Thorung Peak (6,144m) is next on the journey which allows you to witness the massifs of Annapurna and Nilgiri Himalayas. After the successful climb of Mt. Thorung (6,144m), the trail gradually descends to Muktinath. It is a holy site for both Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims. From there, you follow the trail passing through the deepest gorge in the world, the Kali Gandaki Gorge, and end your trekking journey in Jomsom. The trip is not just a peak climbing journey but a complete blend of cultural and natural explorations. The best season for this Thorung Peak climbing is from September to December and March to May.
